The Belgian Tervuren looks much like the more popular “Belgian Sheepdog”, however is shades of brown in color rather than black. It is a very protective, smart, and loving breed. The Belgian Tervuren loves to be with it’s family and usually forms an extremely close bond with one or two family members. If properly socialized from birth, these dogs get along with children and other pets, but may remain dominant towards other dogs. The Belgian Tervuren is highly intelligent and obedient but must be trained with a firm but not harsh approach. Harsh training causes this breed to become uncooperative. Like the other Belgian Sheepdogs, this breed’s hardworking and protective nature makes it a very good police/guard dog.

Most PetCare Clients Insure Belgian Tervurens with:
When I visited my vet's office, I saw PetCare's pet insurance brochures on display. After reading about their accident and illness programs, I took out a policy for Buddy, my Golden Retriever. Boy was I glad that I did! It was not long after purchasing the insurance that Buddy developed an acute allergic reaction. He experienced itchy, inflamed bumps in his neck, throat and abdominal area. Left untreated, the condition would have been terminal. Over the course of his treatment, Buddy saw six different veterinarians. It was comforting to know I could go forward with the treatment, and did not need to worry about the high cost of the procedures. Today Buddy is happy and healthy. Thank-you PetCare!
